EXAMPLES OF OUR WORK IN GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP

 
We have provided a range of strategic support for headteachers and governors. Our support has included practical activities in school, help with paperwork and data analysis, training, coaching and mentoring. We have worked with new headteachers, headteachers facing new or particular challenges, preparing for or following up from an Ofsted inspection, managing critical incidents and managing work/life balance. We offer support and advice for governors across a similar range of issues and can also provide input for Headteachers reviews and interim leadership.

Linden Learning has helped to establish and facilitate a ‘Teaching and Learning Action Research Group’ for a group of primary schools in Suffolk. The group identify an area for improvement (e.g. standards of boys’ writing) and undertake cycles of research lessons and professional discussions to identify how practice can support improvement. The group is well-attended and recognised by our commissioning client (an Academy Sponsor) to be having an impact on the teaching and learning culture and outcomes.

Linden Learning has also recently been commissioned to evaluate the effectiveness of partnership working between a different group of schools in Cambridgeshire (transition project).

A really good piece of work that is both practical in application and comprehensive in its conceptual coverage.

We facilitate groups of middle and senior managers in Oxfordshire, Greenwich, Wandsworth and Newham who meet regularly for leadership development support. The group members meet regularly (usually about once every half term) to raise and work on live issues in their schools for which they have responsibility. The sessions have helped colleagues to develop additional skills and new insights into how to draw on past experience to find solutions for complex problems. It also helped to develop practical coaching skills through the practice of reflective listening and creative questioning.

Our associate was commissioned by Suffolk to write an evaluation report on their school reorganisation from a three tier to a two tier system. A major part of this was investigating how they managed stakeholders.
