- Listening and Consulting with Young Children – a partnership programme, based at an outstanding children’s centre of national reputation. Linked to NCB Young Children’s Voices Network Project this programme contributed to sustained improvement and raised attainment in children’s CLLD and PSED and increased engagement of parents in their children’s learning in the 20 settings involved.

- Making a Big Difference – While leading a team of EY advisory teachers to build the capacity of leaders and managers to lead practice and develop whole setting quality improvement Angela was privileged to work with members of Professor Laever’s team from the University of Leuven. Use of the Leuven wellbeing and involvement scales gave practitioners a manageable tool to reflect on and evaluate the quality of practice and learning environment in their schools and settings and led to improved levels of children’s wellbeing and involvement in their learning in 25 settings in 3 locality areas of highest disadvantage.
Angela’s current work includes leadership training and consultancy, network co-ordination and website development to disseminate and sustain learning from the Every Child a Talker and Listening and Consulting with Young Children programmes, while also running courses in English as an additional language and working with parents as partners.
As a trainer Angela’s practical, interactive and positive approach draws on the most up to date research to encourage participants to reflect on their practice and try out new skills and techniques in a supportive environment. Angela uses coaching in settings and network facilitation to sustain and embed learning and development.
Evaluation comments from recent training:
You’ve really helped me motivate myself and my team. I wish I had been on this course years ago.
…having Angela coming to the setting – not only did she help me with the course but gave me ideas with how I should handle specific issues.
A great course! Really enjoyed having the opportunity to reflect on practice, share practical ideas and relate theory to practice. Angela helped me feel motivated and enthused to try out new techniques I had learned on the course.
